  1. Michael Ondaatje, Warlight: A Novel Reviewed by Brandon Truett. Immersed in the bewildering atmosphere of post-WWII London, Michael Ondaatje’s Warlight introduces the narrator, Nathaniel, a fourteen-year-old English boy, and his sister Rachel at the moment when they learn that their parents will abandon them to take up work in Singapore for an undisclosed amount of time.
  2. The Embarassment got together to do re-union shows on New Years Eve and that was THE place to be. Despite it's claim to be the comprehensive compilation of their studio work there were some great songs issued on a cassette that they sold that did not make this CD, including Podman and my favorite song of theirs, Sexy Girl Singer.4/5(9).
  3. Sexy Singer Girl [HD] More from the 2/81 2-track session. 7. Age Five [TELP, HD] From the live- to 2-track sessions in 4/83, part of the abortive original album. Produced by Jim Rosencutter, John Salem, and the Embos at HI Fidelity in Wichita. 8. She's One [HD] From the 4/83 sessions above.
  4. 5. The album offers a fairly good introduction to Mr. Buckley. Included on this compilation is an excellent live version of "So Real." It also includes an unreleased cover of the Smiths song "I Know it's Over." The album is mostly just a selection of songs from "Grace," "Sketches" and .

  7. Megalith Records Despite a moniker that might seem a bit soft to American sensibilities, Babylove and the van Dangos, whose members hail from Denmark and Germany, deliver a righteous mix of vintage ska, rocksteady, reggae, and Motown ("A Brand New Beat") that will appeal to all fans of the good Dr. Ring Ding and the Senior Allstars (see Ram di Dance or Dandimite).
  8. Funny, strange, sexy - kickass book - looking forward to his next one (Bolano's dead) - just came out, titled: 4. Noise Nomads - solo noise dude runs the Bonescraper cassette label and is killer artist. His performances are surreal disconnections of true noise physicality. A lot of heart. 5.
